Chalton Athletic's home fixture with Portsmouth was abandoned after a worrying medical emergency in the crowd. The Championship clash had been playing for around 12 minutes, before the referee paused the action for treatment to be administered in the Covered End Lower.
Around five minutes later, players were taken off the field of play as treatment continued.
Supporters in attendance reported that those close to the incident quickly alerted stewards and match officials in order for the game to be stopped and emergency treatment administered.
It is then reported that the affected fan was placed on a stretcher away from the stand for further treatment. There was then warm applause from both home and away supporters following an announcement made on the PA system.
