Pennsylvania American Water crews are making emergency repairs Saturday morning, Dec. 6, to a main break on 5th Avenue in Butler.
The main break occurred at 12:45 p.m., and is affecting 5th Avenue and parts of its adjoining streets, which include New Castle, Gibson and Pillow streets and Goldwood Avenue.
People who reside in the affected area may experience discolored or cloudy water, low water pressure or no water. Repairs are expected to take about 11 hours to complete, according to Pennsylvania American Water.
When work is completed, residents may experience temporary changes in water. For discoloration, run cold water at the lowest level of your house, and for cloudy water, run water at the highest level, said Pennsylvania American Water.
