Police have issued an appeal for information after £2,000 was stolen from an elderly victim on a Midland high street.
The victim, aged in his 80s, was approached by a man on West Bromwich High Street on the morning of October 29.
He noticed "food had been sprayed onto his jacket" when a man began trying to clean it off.
The victim then dropped his envelope - which was stolen as the man fled the scene, police said.
Sharing an image of a man they want to talk to, police said: "We’re asking for the public’s help to identify a man after £2,000 was stolen."
The incident was said to have taken place between 11.30am and 11.50am.
The force said: "The victim then noticed food had been sprayed onto his jacket with a man attempting to help clean it.
