Darlington ramped up its festive celebrations today as the town held a Christmas market.

Families visited Darlington Market with residents turning out to browse more than 25 stalls with traders offering gifts, crafts and seasonal treats. Mulled wine and hot chocolate proved popular as visitors warmed up between stalls.

Father Christmas and Mrs Claus drew families throughout the day with a special visit that delighted younger visitors.

The event, part of Darlington Borough Council’s Christmas Markets, continues on Sunday, December 7 with free entry for all.
