REGIS LE BRIS insists his Sunderland players did not have half-an-eye on next weekend’s Wear-Tyne derby as they lost to Manchester City this afternoon – but the Black Cats boss is now ready to switch his attention to a Stadium of Light showdown with Newcastle United .
Sunderland crashed to their heaviest defeat of the season as they lost 3-0 at the Etihad, with Ruben Dias, Josko Gvardiol and Phil Foden scoring for City.
Granit Xhaka and Noah Sadiki avoided the bookings that would have seen them suspended for the Newcastle game, but while Le Bris substituted both players when his side were three goals down in the second half, he is adamant there was no suggestion of his players losing focus during today’s defeat.
