BUFFALO, N.Y. — New York State Police have announced that over 13,000 tickets were issued over the long Thanksgiving weekend.

According to state police, their Thanksgiving traffic enforcement period ran from Wednesday, November 26 to Sunday, November 30. Over that time, 13,036 tickets were issued across the state.

State Police focused on speeding, aggressive driving, as well as impaired and distracted driving. Troopers investigated a total of 1,277 crashes state-wide, and arrested 247 people for DWI.

State Police issued 12,867 tickets during the 2024 Thanksgiving weekend.
