The parents of a baby girl in Utah have been charged with her murder, after they allegedly left the child alone for hours. The little girl is said to have been left in a crib stuffed with trash and remnants of food as she died.

The couple, Carrie Marie Murray and Mitchell Chesnut Murray, both 31, were arrested on Wednesday in connection with the death of 18-month-old Ruby Marie Murray. Both parents were charged with aggravated murder and aggravated child abuse.

Carrie Murray discovered her daughter "deceased in her crib" at around 10:30 a.m. on March 19, prompting her to call 911. Although Carrie Murray was a registered nurse and her daughter remained lifeless, the mother allegedly refused to perform lifesaving measures.
