YUMA, AZ (AZFamily) — Authorities are asking for the public’s help after a deadly hit-and-run near Yuma early Saturday morning.

First responders were dispatched to S. Avenue B and W. County 14th Street , near Yuma International Airport, at about 4:45 a.m., according to the Yuma County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies arrived and found a woman, later identified as 21-year-old Mariella Acosta, dead after a vehicle struck her and fled.

Investigators believe the vehicle was a sedan or coupe with damage to the front passenger-side headlamp.
