Blake Baker isn’t going nowhere, at least not on Lane Kiffin’s watch. The new LSU head honcho is retaining the defensive coordinator, who interviewed this week for the head coaching vacancies at Tulane and Memphis.
Baker, 43, who is in his second season of calling the shots for a Tigers defense that finished 7–5, just cashed in like a vet hitting free agency at the perfect time. Already one of the top-paid coordinators in the college game at $2.5M, Baker’s now locking down a new deal and a raise.
Naturally, the rumor mill fired up like it’s draft week. The streets are saying Baker stayed with LSU for the bag, not the badge.
