WEST POINT- In a game when the University of Massachusetts women’s basketball team could remain undefeated, it was handed its first loss at the hands of Army. With a final score of 64-61, the Minutewomen (7-1) will head into a long, 13-day break.
All seemed to be going well for the traveling UMass team when the first quarter ended with it ahead 18-15. Like much of the matchup, the first 10 minutes were back and forth between the Minutewomen and Black Knights (7-2).
The scoreline was even, with six a piece once during the opening quarter, after Army’s Brooke Wilson made a three-pointer to bring the scoreline even.
