Benin soldiers claim to have overthrown President Talon in apparent coup

Soldiers have appeared on Benin’s state television and announced the dissolution of the government in an apparent coup.

The group, which called itself the Military Committee for Refoundation, announced the removal of President Patrice Talon and all state institutions.
