The Met Office is urging Brits in 32 areas to consider preparing an "emergency" kit for a 24-hour period next week.
The national weather service has issued a new yellow warning for rain, running from 6pm on Monday to 6pm on Tuesday. Up to 100mm of rain could batter parts of Wales and south-west England.
The warning cautions that flooding may trigger road closures along with train and bus cancellations. There's also a "small chance" that rural communities could be isolated.
