1925: The most completely hidden whiskey still unearthed in this county for many moons was brought to town by Under-sheriff McKinney and Deputy Greene. The officers, acting on some sort of hunch, dropped in for a call at the Mike O’Haca ranch in Casner Park, several miles east of Munds Park. In the house they found Diaz Alpineo, a young man who said he was there looking after the lesee’s business. Two barrels of raisin, peach and prune mash was found in the bedroom. Then commenced a hunt for the still. The officers were about to give up when they noticed a rubber hose leading from a barrel just outside the house.
