BOSTON —
A man was seriously injured during an assault early Saturday morning in Downtown Boston.
According to Boston police, officers initially responded to the intersection of Warrenton Street and Seaver Place around 2:16 a.m. for a report of person with a knife.
While officers were investigating, they found a man on Tremont Street suffering from a serious head wound.
He was transported to an area hospital and is currently in stable condition, according to authorities.
Investigators say the victim was not stabbed and surveillance video in the area showed an unidentified man punching the victim, causing him to fall and hit his head.
That suspect fled before police were on scene.
No arrests have been made, although several individuals were briefly detained and later released.
