A 3-year-old child is dead after being struck by a vehicle Sunday afternoon in East Sandwich, Massachusetts.
The Cape and Islands District Attorney's Office announced that Sandwich police received a 911 call around 3:30 p.m. reporting a pedestrian had been struck by a motor vehicle in the area of the Service Road in East Sandwich between Quaker Meeting House Road and Chase Road.

First responders arrived on scene to find an injured 3-year-old child, who was taken to a nearby hospital where they later died.
The driver remained on scene and is cooperating with the investigation, according to officials.
