HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- One person has died and three others are critically hurt after a vehicle veered off the road at a freeway entry ramp and rolled several times down an embankment, according to the Houston Police Department.

Investigators said the fatal single-vehicle crash happened early Sunday morning in the 4900 block of the Eastex Freeway at the I-610 westbound entrance ramp.

Sgt. Michael Barrow of HPD said that of the four people in the vehicle, one was pronounced dead at the scene, and the other three were rushed to the hospital with critical injuries.

Investigators said they are working to determine how the crash happened and have not shared more information about the victims.
