HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- Two people died after a vehicle hit a highway barricade in northwest Houston, according to the Houston Police Department.
Police said they responded to the crash around 1:30 a.m. Sunday along Highway 290 near 43rd Street.
Firefighters initially reported one person dead, but HPD later updated the number to two people.
Sgt. Dallas from HPD said the driver did not stay in their lane and crashed into the barricade between the service road and the entrance ramp.
Dallas also said the vehicle was completely burned.
Police said they could not provide any identifying information about either victim due to the fire.
