The Centurion Bar in Newcastle
After more than 260 years of beer-making, Guinness has poured its expertise into a first ever pub guide and it features two popular city centre favourites. The company behind the world-famous Irish stout, which famously takes around two minutes to serve correctly, has come up with the Guinness Harp Guide 2026 with its pick of a top 35 pubs.
Among entries featured from across the country are Newcastle pubs The Centurion at Newcastle Central Station and Barluga in Grey Street which meet such criteria as serving 'an exceptional pint' as well as acting as 'true pillars of their communities'. And now to mark their success they're to receive a special Harp plaque to hang on their walls.
