LIBERTY CENTER, Ohio — Rex Lingruen is a legendary coaching figure in the world of Ohio high school football. His accomplishments boast multiple state playoff runs, including a state championship with Liberty Center in 1997.

Throughout his more than 30 years leading the Tigers, Lingruen amassed 253 wins, including his championship. During his tenure, Liberty Center was known for its tough style of play, something that he still sees as essential for anyone wanting to succeed in the game today.

Lingruen’s accomplished career led to an induction into the Ohio High School Football Coaches Association Hall of Fame. Along with that, the Tigers’ home field now bears his name, dubbed Rex Lingruen Stadium.
