CHESTER, Ill. (KFVS) - A woman from Sparta, Illinois is facing multiple felony charges after a state investigation.

According to Randolph County Sheriff Jarrod Peters, 43-year-old Carrie J. Kelley was recently arrested on warrants for two counts of theft of property over $1,000,000, one count of wire fraud and four counts of fraudulent filing of Illinois income tax.

This comes after Randolph County investigators were notified of a potential theft from MedStar Ambulance Inc. in February 2024.

Investigators with the sheriff’s office, along with the Illinois Department of Revenue and the Illinois Attorney General’s Office, learned Kelley, who was an employee of MedStar Ambulance Inc. during this time, allegedly took more than $1,000,000 from the company over the course of several years.
