AMES, Iowa (KWQC) - Iowa State University officials have announced the Cyclone football team will not be participating in a bowl game, following the departure of former head coach Matt Campbell.
After a meeting this morning with members of the administrative team and the previous coaching staff, the players voted to not play in a postseason game due to the lack of healthy players available.
“The administrative staff and coaches respect and support the players decision,” said ISU Director of Athletics Jamie Pollard. “Our student-athletes have had an incredible season and we are grateful for their leadership as we worked through this process with them today.”
Iowa State concluded the 2025 football season with an 8-4 record.
