The 2025-26 College Football Playoff field is officially set.
To no surprise after beating Ohio State for the Big Ten Championship , Indiana is the top seed in the 12-team bracket.
The Buckeyes didn't fall far in the rankings after losing to the Hoosiers, earning the No. 2 seed. No. 3 Georgia (SEC champion) and No. 4 Texas Tech (Big 12 champion) earned the other two first-round byes.
Looking down the line, the biggest controversy involved the ACC. One of the Power Four conferences, the ACC put itself in position to have no teams in the playoff when 7-5 Duke won the title on Saturday. Miami (10-2), though, jumped into the top-12 despite not playing -- eliminating Notre Dame (10-2), who the Hurricanes beat on Aug. 31.
