ATHENS, Ga. — The College Football Playoff bracket was revealed on Sunday, and now we know where the Georgia Bulldogs will go after a bye into the quarterfinal round as the third-seeded team.

The CFP committee made headlines by selecting Alabama and Miami — and leaving out Notre Dame — as they filled out the back end of the bracket.

But the committee also had something of a surprise in store for the Dawgs. While the top four overall going into Sunday was fairly straightforward, it appeared like UGA might leapfrog Ohio State to the No. 2 seed, after winning the SEC Championship Game.

That was not the case, and the Dawgs stayed in the third spot, where they were last ranked prior to beating Alabama in the SEC title game.
