SARASOTA, Fla. (WWSB) - Thanks to a local charity, dozens of families in need on the Suncoast will be getting a Christmas tree this year free of charge.
“Thanks for Giving Trees” works to donate real trees and stands.
The non-profit organization was formed in memory of Joshua Morris.
“It all started with a family dropping a tree off on our front porch, knowing we were in need. We were going through a hard time that year, and we knew what it meant to have a tree and have a Christmas with our family,” Joshua’s wife, Hannah, said.
“We decided, let’s continue this legacy and see how we can help others in need”.
For Jody Osceola, it’s an opportunity to carry on her brother’s legacy.
“We’re giving away our 200th tree today and our 1000th tree since Josh started this in 2017. We started it
