POWDER SPRINGS, Ga. — Powder Springs Police say the two elderly victims in a shooting Saturday were the mother and stepfather of a 31-year-old suspect who was taken into custody.
The shooting happened at a home on Yoshino Terrace a little after noon on Saturday. On Sunday, Powder Springs PD said the suspect is 31-year-old Martin Duberry. He faces two counts of murder, eight counts of aggravated battery, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.
Police were called to the domestic incident Saturday, saying they found two victims in their 70s, both with gunshot wounds. The two victims were taken to the hospital initially in critical condition, where police say they died.
On Sunday police said those victims are 72-year-old Monica Brookins, the biological mother of Dube
