ATLANTA — Delays have piled up Sunday morning at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport after a ground stop that was due to low visibility amid foggy conditions, according to the FAA.
The FAA listed the ground stop until 10:45 a.m., and then listed a ground delay program.
As of 1 p.m., the FAA no longer lists a delay program for ATL, but data from FlightAware shows the delay situation lingering.
The site lists 966 total delays into and out of Hartsfield-Jackson on Sunday, and the website's live "Misery Map" showed 172 actively delayed flights at 1:15 p.m.
There were also nearly 90 cancellations into and out of Atlanta.
The metro Atlanta and north Georgia region was in a dense fog advisory issued by the National Weather Service until 11 a.m.
