STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. -- Susan Wagner senior center Casey McKinney is off to a sizzling start averaging more than 27 points per game. On Saturday, she added to that average by scoring 29 points, the last of which was her 1,000th career point, during a 71-13 PSAL 4A victory over Port Richmond at home.

In the process, she joined her brother Caden Williams on the Island’s 1,000-point scoring lists for boys and girls. Williams scored his 1,000th point last season, also for Susan Wagner.

“It feels surreal; a couple tears of joy came but this wouldn’t have been possible without my teammates, my coach, my mom, God and all of the people that supported me through this journey,” said McKinney. “And joining my brother as a 1,000-point scorer is also surreal.
