FAYETTEVILLE — With the Arkansas women’s basketball team down its leading scorer, freshman Harmonie Ware stepped up with a record-setting performance during her first career start Sunday at Bud Walton Arena.
Ware exploded for 24 points on 9-for-9 shooting to lead the Razorbacks in a 77-46 victory over Jackson State. It was the most points an Arkansas player has ever scored without a miss from the field.
The Razorbacks (8-3) snapped a two-game losing streak ahead of a near weeklong break between games. Arkansas is scheduled to play at Missouri State on Saturday at 1 p.m.
Ware’s dynamic outing Sunday came in wake of the Razorbacks being without Taleyah Jones, who averages a team-best 16.7 points per game, who is in concussion protocol.
