Police in Surrey are looking into a report of shots fired toward a home and two vehicle fires, but investigators have not yet determined whether they are related to recent extortion attempts plaguing the city.
The RCMP operational support unit and Surrey Police service officers are working together on the investigation after the shots-fired incident and car fires on Sunday morning.
Officers responded to a vehicle fire in the 10200-block of 125th Street just before 8:30 a.m. A few minutes later reports came in that shots had been fired at a residence in the 11000-block of 140A Street. Half an hour after that, another vehicle fire was reported on Regal Drive near Regent Place.
There were no injuries in any of the incidents. All appear connected, said Staff Sgt. Lindsey Houghton.
