Peel police have charged four youths and recovered a stolen vehicle after an attempted robbery in Mississauga Wednesday.
Four masked people, aged 14 to 17, wearing all-black and carrying hammers were seen entering Erin Mills Town Centre at around 2:50 p.m., Peel Regional Police said in a news release Sunday.
Mall security and an on-site police officer noticed the suspects and pursued them before they could steal any mall property, Peel police said.
One person was arrested at the scene while the other three escaped in a Honda CR-V. According to Peel police, the vehicle was stolen.
In Sunday’s release, police said their officers boxed in the vehicle and following a brief foot chase, were able to arrest the three suspects within three minutes of them fleeing the mall.
