BARNWELL, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - American Red Cross volunteers are assisting a Barnwell County family whose home was damaged by a fire late Sunday morning.

The Red Cross is helping three people, whose house is located on Oak Avenue in Blackwell, according to a press release, by providing financial assistance for immediate needs such as food, clothing, and shelter, along with referrals to much-needed resources.

In South Carolina, the Red Cross responds to an average of six home fires every day.
