HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - A paddler was pulled from the waters of Hanauma Bay on Sunday.
At around 10:40 a.m., it was reported to first responders that a female paddler, believed to be in her teens, was in distress approximately 100 yards offshore of the bay.
Honolulu Ocean Safety Department made contact and found her to be severely seasick.
Ocean Safety said she was brought to shore and then taken to a lifeguard tower, where she was tended to with assistance from the Honolulu Fire Department.
Care was then transferred to Emergency Medical Services.
EMS said they evaluated the patient on scene, but she declined further treatment.
