BRYAN, Texas (KBTX) - Texas A&M Men’s basketball lost 93-80 in overtime to SMU in Arlington on Sunday night. Here is a game rundown:
Why did the Aggies lose? After going on a 20-4 run for almost the last seven minutes of play, the Mustangs were able to come back and tie it with 30 seconds in the game. For 1.1 seconds on the clock, a ball off the hands of Rylan Griffin went out of bounds to send the game to overtime.
In the extra time, the Aggies were only able to score three points off of free throws. SMU outscored A&M 16-3, the Aggies going 0-of-11 from the field through overtime.
Who stood out? For A&M, Marcus Hill led the team with 25 points, scoring 16 in the second half and Rashaun Agee picked up his third consecutive double-double with 13 points and 11 rebounds.
