Gateway Preparatory Academy is proud to announce that it has broken ground on a new 26,000-square-foot educational facility on its campus.
The building will be called the Andy Burt Center in honor of Gateway’s former director, who died in 2021 .
Wednesday morning, Gateway Executive Director Dave Armour and Assistant Director Amy Gibson took Cedar City News on a tour of the school building and surrounding areas, including the lot to the west where ground was broken a couple of weeks ago.
School officials say the new building will include a full-size basketball court, two pickleball courts, a climbing wall, a STEM lab, two early learning centers and six multipurpose classrooms. It is expected to take just over one year to build, with expected completion in January or February of 2027.
