A trial court in Kochi on Monday (December 8, 2025) acquitted actor Dileep of all criminal charges in the 2017 Kerala actor rape case, bringing to an end a legal battle that spanned nearly eight years. The case drew national attention after a young woman actor was allegedly abducted and raped inside a moving car on February 17, 2017.

In his first reaction after the acquittal, the actor said, "First, all thanks to God. I'm grateful to my family, my friends, and everyone who stood by me and kept in their prayers." He also expressed gratitude to his legal team.
