In a recent update on the 8th Pay Commission, the Central Government has issued an important clarification. It informed the Lok Sabha on Monday that the 8th Pay Commission has been formally constituted and its Terms of Reference (ToR) were notified on November 3, 2025. Minister of State for Finance Pankaj Chaudhary shared the details in a written reply.
Responding to a question on the implementation date, the government said the timeline will be decided later. This means the Commission’s work is underway, but the effective date for the revised pay is yet to be finalised.
