Watch out for dense fog for most of ENC, as visibility continues to remain low during the post-morning commute. Once the fog burns off, we are cold and overcast, with the arrival of snow and rain this afternoon. Most of the area will see rain to start, then change over to snow around the early afternoon to evening hours. Accumulation of 1-2″ snowfall will be north of 264 to the VA/NC state line, as a coating to a few flurries of snow south of Highway 264. Coastal spots will see cold rain as temperatures hover in the 30s and 40s this afternoon.
Along with the cold, the winds will begin to increase, as feels-like temperatures will be in the 20s, with a few isolated teens. With that in mind, watch for refreezing into Tuesday morning, especially north of Highway 64. Bridges and overpasses wil
