A new study found a majority of Hispanic churches aligned with evangelical Protestant denominations are growing and thriving. The findings, from Brentwood-based Lifeway Research, challenge common assumptions about evangelical political, racial and ethnic identities at a time of rapid change in immigration enforcement.

President Donald Trump’s crackdown on immigration and asylum has not shaken many conservative Christians’ support for him. Still, conservative Christians are divided over immigration policy , according to a report in February from Lifeway Research, a division of the Nashville-based Southern Baptist Convention’s publishing arm, produced with a group that supports immigration reform and refugee rights.
