LIHUE — Thousands of people turned out on Friday to experience the joy of the season during the combined efforts of the Kauai Museum annual Christmas Craft Fair and the Lights on Rice holiday lights parade presented by the Rotary Club of Hawaii.

“Wow!” said Laurie Yoshida, one of the Rotary parade organizers that spent the greater part of two hours checking in and verifying registration of parade floats and decorated vehicles. “There must be more than 3,000 people in this parking lot.”

The Lights on Rice parade featured more than 60 units and thousands of participants, either walking, riding or simply enjoying the short route that started from the entrance of the Vidinha Stadium parking lot and traversing to Eiwa Street that separates the Kauai Museum and the historic County Building.
