LSU basketball faced its first setback after a remarkable start to the season.
Coach Matt McMahon’s team was thoroughly outplayed in its 82-58 loss to No. 19 Texas Tech (7-2) on Sunday at Dickies Arena in Fort Worth, Texas, in the Coast 2 Coast Challenge. The fourth-year coach said LSU (8-1) was overwhelmed from the 3-point line, which was the difference in the game.
The Tigers went 4 of 24 from beyond the arc, and Texas Tech was 13 of 27, making nine in the first half. The putrid 3-point shooting is a second straight occurrence for LSU, which went 3 of 19 in a 78-69 overtime win at Boston College on Wednesday.
