Friends sometimes ask me where to find the really good Christmas lights. Most of the time, I have the same response.

“You mean like, specific addresses? No idea.”

This might startle a few regular readers. After all, here at Chez Rochat, Christmas light runs are what we do. We’ve been out with Missy at least five times already to search out great decorations in different parts of town so that she (and we) can get the shine and dazzle she loves. The Times-Call even asked us to take notes after each drive one year, to help fill out its holiday map.

But with a very few exceptions, we’re usually not shooting for a particular home or block. Instead, I just pick a part of town and start driving around. When I see lights, I turn. And turn. And turn, following the glow like a ground-bound Santa
