PINE RIVER — The Pine River-Backus School Board had a light monthly meeting Monday, Dec. 1, which allowed improvements among students to take central stage.
PR-B High School Principal Chris Halverson highlighted several improvements starting with attendance issues. The school's attendance review board noted fewer conferences with teachers, indicating that students were seeing fewer unexcused absences.
The high school also has an increase in A and B honor roll students from around 50% to 60%.
"Ten percent is a pretty big jump of our students making the A and B honor roll," Halverson said.
Halverson said he is also reviewing the school's cellphone policy, with plans to bring data on results in January. He believes the results are positive.
