Love Island star and West End performer Amber Davies has urged fans to "be kind" after this weekend's Strictly Come Dancing , in which she topped the leaderboard with a score of 40 and then ended up in the dreaded Dance-Off .

The Musicals Week-themed quarter-finals saw Amber and professional dance partner Nikita Kuzmin performed a Charleston to 'Sit Down, You're Rocking the Boat' from Guys and Dolls.

The judges gave them a perfect score, yet the lack of public votes landed them in the bottom two against fellow front-runners Lewis Cope and Katya Jones. The decision to save them was unanimous.

Following the airing of the results show, Amber took to her Instagram to ask fans not to send negativity over what happened.
