All planes landing at Edinburgh Airport have been suspended after a British Airways plane was forced to make an unexpected landing due to a fault with its landing gear.
The plane landed safely on the runway, an airport official told Mirror Online. At the moment staff are taking passengers off the faulty aircraft. Meanwhile flights landing at Edinburgh are suspended at present, a spokesman for the airport said they will start taking planes in again later but could not confirm when this would be.
British Airways flight BA1443 from Edinburgh to London Heathrow has declared a 7700 general emergency after they were unable to retract their landing gear, according to reports from online flight trackers.
The Edinburgh Airport X account said: "Teams are responding to an issue with an aircraft which returned to the airport. It has landed safely but is currently stationary on the runway."
