GASTON COUNTY, N.C. —
Authorities in North Carolina say an inmate escaped Sunday afternoon, and the search for him continues.
The North Carolina Department of Adult Corrections and several law enforcement agencies are searching for 42-year-old Roy W Burgess, Jr.

Authorities said Burgess escaped the Lincoln Correctional Center in Lincolnton.
Burgess is believed to be in the Dallas or Gastonia area of Gaston County, and may be seeking help from friends or relatives.
He has the letters BNG tattooed on his neck, along with other tattoos on his hands and arms.
He may be bleeding from cuts on his body.
