The Kansas City Chiefs turned in another uninspiring performance in their loss to the Houston Texans on Sunday night, and Patrick Mahomes is fully aware of what was at stake in the game.

It has been more than a decade since the Chiefs missed the playoffs, but they are now in 10th place in the AFC with just four games remaining in the season. Kansas City fell to 6-7 with their 20-10 loss to the Texans on "Sunday Night Football," which officially ended their chances of winning a 10th straight AFC West title.

Following the game, Mahomes admitted that it is "getting late in the season" for the Chiefs to make a playoff push.

"We know the chances are getting lower and lower, but I know the guys on this team are going to give everything they have every opportunity they get," Mahomes said
