The realignment winds have blown through the world of Western Massachusetts high school boys basketball this winter. The PVIAC’s two-year realignment cycle takes shape, and teams have shuffled around throughout the league landscape.

Let’s start at the top with the highest-rated Valley League , where defending co-champions Springfield Central and Holyoke are both back in familiar territory. Putnam is also back, but those three holdovers will have three new league-mates this season in Agawam (which comes over from the Suburban North), Pope Francis (Valley Wheel) and Chicopee Comp (Suburban South).
