Two paedophile cousins embarked on a 'campaign of rape' grooming and sexually abusing five vulnerable girls, a court has heard.

Manzorr Hussain, 54, and his cousin Imtiaz Ali, 53, were jailed for their sick crimes, which saw them give drink and drugs to their victims before abusing them.

Minshull Street Crown Court heard how their victims came from troubled backgrounds and were manipulated by the predators for their own sexual gratification.

Hussain has now been locked up for 30 years and Ali for 28 years following a four week trial for the sickening acts, which happened mainly in Bury, but also in other locations across Greater Manchester as well as in Wales.

A third man, Hussain's older brother Ghulam Hussain, 64, was charged with a 'number of sexual offences' in connection with the case but has 'left the country', jurors heard during the trial. They were told it was not their task to decide his guilt, the Manchester Evening News reports.

"These defendants each played their part in the grooming and sexual abuse of six teenage girls. The sexual offending took place in houses, a hotel, or sometimes in a car or a van," Prosecutor Anna Pope told the court.

"A number of the girls were particularly vulnerable. They had troubled backgrounds. These defendants took advantage of their personal situations and provided them with drink, drugs, lifts, a place to spend time and company.
