PUEBLO, Colo. (KKTV) - Nearly two years after the murder of a brother and sister devastated the Pueblo community, residents are turning tragedy into a day of remembrance.

The horrific killings were first discovered in January 2024 , when the remains of a toddler were found stashed inside a storage unit in a metal container filled with concrete. One month later, another child’s remains were found inside a suitcase, which had been packed into the trunk of a car and left at a scrapyard. The children were later identified as 5-year-old Jesus Dominguez Jr. and 3-year-old Yesenia Dominguez, who had been missing since 2018 .
