PEARL RIVER COUNTY — A traffic stop recently led to the arrest of a Louisiana woman after investigators said they found methamphetamine and an illegal weapon in her vehicle.

According to the Pearl River County Sheriff’s Department, a narcotics investigator conducted the stop on Derby Whitesand Road near Highway 11. The driver, identified as 24-year-old Allison Cook of Bogalusa, Louisiana, was detained while officers carried out a probable-cause search.

Deputies said Cook was found in possession of methamphetamine and a dirk knife. Investigators later determined she is a convicted felon and is prohibited from possessing that type of weapon.
